All change.

Can it be right that the useless PCSO's are earning more money than an entrant Constable when these changes go through? Should the police service not be able to recruit the best possible applicants and by lowering the starting salary they are going to be at a disadvantage in being able to do this in future.

What is in a name?
They both do the same job Don't they?
In fact if you look around the PSCO seems to be more active on the street than the PC's
It is the results that count no the name .
The PSCO presently has the edge

There are infantry soldiers fighting in Afghanistan on less than 19K.

In fact there are LCpls commanding patrols and bringing in airstrikes and artillery/mortar fire on less than 19K.

So if that's not worth 19K then neither is an entrant PC.

Yes of course they are. How silly of me to forget. And Herr Griffin is a thoroughly nice man really I'm sure.

Well, where do I start? PCSOs might be visible on the street, but that is why they were created- a cheap way of "flying the flag". The PCSO marching up and down your street, in his police play-suit has no more powers than you or I. He can execute a citizens arrest but must then wait while the real, trained police to arrive: and how many people know the difference between a citizens arrest and unlawful detention?

So, I'm with Oscar on this one. The police are useless enough but at least they are trained and could, with decent management, control and less personal ego do the job we expect.

PCSOs? Where do we see them? Taking photographs, building sandcastles, and collecting Facebook friends, that's where.

There isn't much really difference between citizen and police arrest ..

Both rely on common sense

The Psco tends to use more common sense or caution before making an arrest .
The PSCO are no more "Toy Town Plods" than the PC.
It is a possible future route for police recruits to before becoming a PC

it would probably filter out the not so good PC during the process

What about the newly installed community beat officer who is under investigation for using incapacitating spray on the wife of a serving officer?
Is she fit to be an official face of the local force?

Herr Griffin? A rather tubby & grubby little glass-eyed plonker struggling to be a fourth-rate amateur politician, leading a party of fifth rate near-humanoids.

I know who you mean now the Euro MEP who opposed the war's in Serbia, Iraq, libya, and now Syria etc and the flooding of the country with millions of people encouraged by labour with out asking the British people first, and daring to object to church weddings for homo sexuals etc and wrote a good article exposing the wrongly named "Love not Hate"communist Zionist front etc.I agree I cant stand the fellow.

Red Flag there is absolutely no need to humiliate a partially sighted man with one eye. I dread to think of your comments about blind politicians such as Mr Blunkett who I remind you was a Minister in the last labour government.
Mrs Lloyd Jones.

I don't humiliate the partially sighted with one eye, I humiliate one of them.

Big difference - but probably beyond your comprehension.

Love not Hate is communist zionist is it? And there are aliens at area51. Love not Hate is supported by MPs from all parties in the House - a location that the filth he represents will never even come close to entering as elected. UKIP will all but annihalate the BNP now - and you know full well what UKIP's position and statement is on BNP members - they are banned from joining UKIP for life and are unacceptable. Even Farage thinks you are disgusting.

Our town's like a foreign country and locals can't cope with the immigrants, says mother after TV clash with academic on Question Time
Office worker Rachel Bull challenged leading historian Mary Beard on the impact of immigration on her Lincolnshire
The academic dismissed claims the town is being overwhelmed by migrant workers as 'myths', but Mrs Bull insists Boston is 'at breaking point'

I tell you the reality of UKIP. They are too lazy and too disorganised at street level. They will win exactly no seats at the next General Election because of this. And if you don't hold a seat in Parliament you are an irrelavance - a nothing. Even the Greens and RESPECT hold a seat.

Remember the AV referendum? Who was a big YES supporter - UKIP. I was out in Holyhead and other towns handing out leaflets, talking to people, handing out balloons (for which I paid for the helium). After a week or so of giving up all my lunch hours and every evening, I asked UKIP where their supporters were being as everyone I was with wasn't - they were trades unionists, renegade Labour and Tory voters, LibDems, Greens etc. UKIP said sorry, much as we support it, our local activists haven't got the time to do any street campaigning. What a pathetic joke.

If UKIP wish to win a Parliamentary seat, they are going to have to put 30 people a day, all day, every day from 9 in the morning till 10 at night, every single day of the campaign and double at weekends, in each and every seat they want to win. Not just stood in town centres behind paste tables like stuffed dummies, but going from door to door, street by street, ward by ward knocking people up and speaking to them. Not just once but 2 to three times minimum. And putting up with the threats and abuse they will get - otherwise they will just remain dead donkeys.

Having seen them (or not as the case may be) over something which they were passionate supporters of, my belief is that at Parliamentary level and below, dead donkeys is what they are.

I wonder if the Helium loving gas bag Red Flag has actually met Mr Griffin or any of the people he slags off with carte blanc on this blog. He seems to eat, sleep and hate some people who he couldnt possibly know so his outbursts are purely based on heresay. Oscar must allow this man's rantings as some sort of pshyco therepy. I do hope it helps cure this hostile
raver.

I actually ordered Griffin and two of his 'security' out of my premises when I was a licensee when I realised who he was. I have also stood 'toe-to-toe' with several other disgusting creatures from the BNP hierarchy at the time. I know one of their former Parliamentary candidates - his opinions of the BNP now being lower than mine. I also lived less than 100 yards from another senior BNP figure. I also knew to a lesser or greater degree most of the Oldham 'head shed'.
